How to Use Seedance 2 on Omnely: Step-by-Step With Prompts

How to use Seedance 2 on Omnely: pick Seedance 2.5 or 2.0, write the prompt, add a first frame, set duration and audio, and render, with real clips and credits.

Title card: How to Use Seedance 2, Text and Image to Video

This guide shows how to use Seedance 2 on Omnely from start to finish: pick Seedance 2.5 or Seedance 2.0 in the /video workspace, write a tight prompt, optionally add a first frame, set duration, resolution and audio, then render. The same prompt and first frame are used below for a real Seedance 2.5 clip and a real Seedance 2.0 clip, so the two models can be compared directly.

Slow cinematic push-in on a faceted glass perfume bottle standing on wet black stone. Soft mist drifts across the stone, a few rose petals tremble in a light breeze, and the warm backlight slowly brightens behind the bottle. Audio: a soft ambient hum with one gentle glass chime. No text, no logos.

How to use Seedance 2 on Omnely in five steps

The flow is the same whether the goal is a product shot, a character scene, or a short animated storyboard. Each step below maps to a setting in the Omnely /video workspace.

Step 1: Pick the model

Open the /video workspace and set the model. Three Seedance options are live on Omnely:

  • Seedance 2.5: the newest Seedance on Omnely. Text to video and image to video, native audio, clips from 4 to 30 seconds (or "auto", which bills as 30 s), default 5 seconds. Resolutions 480p (default), 720p and 1080p. Supports 1 or 2 frames (start, or start and end) or 3 to 30 reference images, plus a seed setting for reproducible generations.
  • Seedance 2.0: the lower-cost option per second. Text to video and image to video with native audio, 4 to 15 second clips, default 4 seconds. Resolutions 480p, 720p (default), 1080p and 4K. Up to 2 image inputs (start, or start and end). See the Seedance 2.0 model page for the full parameter list.
  • Seedance 2.0 Characters: a separate model for character consistency, 4 to 15 seconds at 15 credits per second from 480p, with 3 to 9 reference images.

Short rule of thumb: Seedance 2.5 for longer clips, reference-image stacks, or seeded iterations; Seedance 2.0 when the shot is short and the per-second cost matters; Seedance 2.0 Characters when the same person needs to appear across cuts.

Step 2: Write the prompt

Public Seedance prompting guides recommend one structure: subject, action, environment, light, one camera move, an audio line, and exclusions. Pack those six elements into one paragraph and keep it specific. Prompts can be up to 20,000 characters, but one tight paragraph is enough.

Reusable template:

[Subject with a concrete material or outfit] [doing one clear action]. [Environment detail], [weather or atmosphere], [light direction and colour]. [One camera move]. Audio: [1–2 sound elements]. No [exclusions].

Worked example (the exact prompt used for both clips in this post):

Slow cinematic push-in on a faceted glass perfume bottle standing on wet black stone. Soft mist drifts across the stone, a few rose petals tremble in a light breeze, and the warm backlight slowly brightens behind the bottle. Audio: a soft ambient hum with one gentle glass chime. No text, no logos.

A few prompting tips worth repeating:

  • Describe one camera move, not three. Push-in, pull-back, pan, orbit, locked-off. Combining moves usually produces drift.
  • Name the light. Phrases like "warm backlight", "cool key from the left" or "overcast daylight" give the shot a clear light direction.
  • Put audio in its own sentence. Starting it with "Audio:" keeps the sound description separate from the visual description.
  • Iterate one change at a time. Change the light or the camera move, not both at once. That is the only way to know which word did the work.
  • Test at 4 seconds first. A 4-second 480p render is the cheapest honest preview of composition, motion arc and audio. Scale duration and resolution only after the prompt is right.

Step 3: Add a first frame (optional)

A first frame locks composition, character and palette. Image to video on Seedance accepts:

  • Seedance 2.5: 1 image (start frame), or 2 images (start + end), or 3–30 reference images for consistency.
  • Seedance 2.0: up to 2 images: a single start frame, or start plus end frame.
  • Seedance 2.0 Characters: 3–9 reference images of the same subject.

For this post, the first frame is a GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst render of a faceted glass perfume bottle on wet black stone, generated inside Omnely. If a frame-ready still is needed, the step-by-step is in How to use GPT Image 2.

First frame used for both clips: perfume bottle on wet black stone, GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst

*First frame: GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, generated on Omnely.*

Pass the image as the start frame. The clip begins from that picture and the text prompt describes how it moves.

Note: reference videos and reference audio exist on some platforms (Runway, Adobe Firefly) but are not supported for Seedance on Omnely. Use still images.

Step 4: Set duration, resolution and audio

Three settings decide the credit cost and the look of the final clip.

Seedance 2.5 pricing

  • 480p: 19.25 credits per second so 4 s = 77 credits, default 5 s = 97 credits
  • 720p: higher than 480p
  • 1080p: 96.22 credits per second so 5 s = 482 credits

Seedance 2.0 pricing

  • 480p: 12.5 credits per second so 4 s = 50 credits
  • 720p (default): 25 credits per second so 4 s = 100 credits
  • 1080p and 4K are available at higher rates

Full credit table across durations and resolutions: Seedance 2.0 price in credits.

Resolution tradeoff:

  • 480p: the cheapest option, suited to prompt testing and quick review.
  • 720p: a middle step in price and size.
  • 1080p: for a final render once the prompt and composition are locked.

Aspect ratios on both models: 21:9, 16:9 (default), 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, 9:16, adaptive. Use 9:16 for vertical video, 16:9 for widescreen and 21:9 for ultra-wide shots.

Sound is on by default on both Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0 and does not change the credit price. Describe the sounds in the prompt and the clip comes with matching audio. There is no reference-audio input on Omnely for Seedance.

Step 5: Render and review

Start the render. Credits are charged when the clip is generated, and clips usually finish in 1 to 3 minutes. The clip below is the Seedance 2.0 output from the same prompt and first frame, rendered at 16:9, 480p, 4 seconds, sound on.

*A 4-second real Omnely clip: Seedance 2.0, 480p, sound on, 50 credits.*

What to check on review:

  • Motion. Does the camera do the one move described? Is there unwanted drift or warping on the subject?
  • Light. Does the "warm backlight slowly brightens behind the bottle" direction show on screen? If the light stays flat, strengthen that phrase.
  • Audio. Does the sound bed match the scene? If a chime, hum or whoosh is missing, name it more concretely.
  • Edges and text. If reflective materials or labels break up, re-prompt with "No text, no logos" or lower the amount of surface detail.

Iterate on one setting at a time. Common iterations: swap the camera move, tighten the light phrase, cut adjective count by half, or reuse a seed on Seedance 2.5 to compare prompt edits cleanly.

Seedance 2.5 vs Seedance 2.0: what changes

The two clips on this page use the identical prompt, identical first frame, 480p, 4 seconds, sound on and 16:9. The only variable is the model.

Quick read on when each wins:

  • Seedance 2.5 adds: longer clips up to 30 seconds, 3–30 reference images for consistency, a seed setting, and a higher cost per second.
  • Seedance 2.0 still wins on: price per second. The 480p 4 s render is 50 credits on 2.0 versus 77 credits on 2.5. For prompt testing, cheap previews, and short loops where cost compounds, 2.0 is the pragmatic default.

Playing the two clips back to back is the quickest way to judge which model fits a given shot.

Using the same prompt across two or three video models is the fastest way to pick the right engine for a given scene before committing to a longer render.

FAQ

How to use Seedance 2 for image to video?

Open /video, pick Seedance 2.5 or Seedance 2.0, upload a start-frame image, and write a prompt that describes the action, light and one camera move. Seedance 2.0 accepts up to 2 images (start, or start plus end). Seedance 2.5 accepts 1 or 2 frames, or 3 to 30 reference images for stronger consistency. Keep the first render at 480p and 4 seconds to confirm motion before scaling up.

How many credits does a 4-second Seedance clip cost?

At 480p, a 4-second clip is 50 credits on Seedance 2.0 (12.5 credits per second) and 77 credits on Seedance 2.5 (19.25 credits per second). At 1080p, Seedance 2.5 is 96.22 credits per second, so a 5-second 1080p clip is 482 credits. The full table is in the Seedance 2.0 price in credits post.

Does Seedance generate audio?

Yes. Both Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0 have native audio, on by default, with no extra credit cost. Prefix the audio part of the prompt with "Audio:" and name one or two sound elements, for example "Audio: a soft ambient hum with one gentle glass chime." Omnely does not accept reference audio input for Seedance.

How many reference images can Seedance use?

Seedance 2.0 takes up to 2 images, used as the start frame or as start and end frames. Seedance 2.5 takes 1 or 2 frames, or 3 to 30 reference images for consistency across the clip. Seedance 2.0 Characters, the dedicated character model, takes 3 to 9 reference images of the same subject.

Ready to render? Open the Seedance 2.0 generator on Omnely, paste the prompt from Step 2, attach a first frame, and start with 480p at 4 seconds. The whole loop of prompt, image, render and review fits inside a few minutes.
